More Reunion Information

Have you marked your calendar, yet? The all-class Suomi College/Finlandia University Reunion 2008 will take place on campus June 27 – 29, 2008. The reunion will focus on the Class of 1958, with special recognition of the seminary graduates. Please complete and mail your registration form today!

The itinerary includes a golf tournament, alumni hockey and basketball games, a cruise of the Portage Canal, a mixer, and many other activities!

Alumni Dan Ojala and Paul Kaarre are encouraging their classmates from 1960, 1961, and 1962 to attend a special get-together they are arranging. For details and to express your interest, please contact either of them ASAP. Paul’s phone is 941-966-9897; Dan’s phone is 906-281-7710.

We encourage other interested alumni to organize their own get-together’s by class or majors.

There are a few noteworthy Reunion 2008 additions that didn’t make it onto the Registration Form or into the Bridge:
-A meeting of the ELCA Suomi Special Interest Conference will take place Thursday, June 26, at Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
-32 dorm rooms will be available for $20 a night plus linen costs, if necessary.
-Suomi College T-shirts will be available for sale at North Wind Books.
-An additional presentation has been scheduled and time adjustments made for the Saturday, June 28, presentations:
--9:00 – 9:30: A History of Suomi College, Karen Johnson
--9:45 – 10:15: Book signing and discussion, Lauri Anderson
--10:30 – 11:15: History of the Suomi College Seminary, Duane Westfield
--11:30 – 12:00: “Excellence is Our Aim,” Giles Ekola
